Respect consent and boundaries
- Stop contacting someone who says no, blocks you, or asks you to stop.
- Do not pressure, threaten, stalk, sexually harass, or send unwanted sexual content.
- Never share intimate content without the depicted person’s clear permission. Report suspected sexual exploitation or image-based abuse immediately.
Protect people from harm
- No credible threats, encouragement of violence or self-harm, glorification of abuse, or instructions intended to harm others.
- No content that sexually exploits or endangers a minor. KU Spark is an 18+ service; report any suspected minor account.
- If someone appears to be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services before relying on an in-app report.
No hate or targeted abuse
- Do not attack, dehumanize, exclude, or promote hatred against people based on protected characteristics.
- No bullying, humiliation campaigns, repeated unwanted contact, or coordinated harassment.
- Disagreement is allowed; personal intimidation and degrading attacks are not.
Be authentic
- Use your own identity and photos. Do not impersonate another student, university staff, KU Spark staff, or an organization.
- Do not misrepresent your age, student status, relationship intentions, or affiliations.
- KU Spark is not an official university channel unless expressly identified as one.
Protect privacy
- No doxxing, credential sharing, tracking, or posting another person’s address, schedule, student records, private messages, or contact details without permission.
- Do not record or distribute private conversations or dates in a way that violates consent or law.
- Use reporting tools rather than publicly exposing a suspected violator.
No scams, spam, or prohibited trade
- No phishing, malware, account sales, deceptive fundraising, pyramid schemes, or requests for financial credentials.
- No repetitive promotion, automated messaging, engagement manipulation, or unsolicited commercial solicitation.
- Do not arrange illegal goods or services, weapons, controlled drugs, sexual services, or other prohibited transactions.
Reporting and enforcement
Use block and report controls for concerning profiles, messages, or media. Provide truthful context and do not weaponize reports. Moderators consider severity, context, credible evidence, prior violations, and immediate risk. Actions may include reduced visibility, content removal, warning, suspension, termination, preservation under legal hold, or referral where law requires it. Appeals are available through Feedback and Request.
