Cookie categories and your choices

KU Spark uses essential cookies for authentication, security, recording cookie choices, and core network functions. These cookies cannot be disabled through KU Spark. Optional preference, analytics, and marketing cookies or similar storage remain disabled unless you allow the relevant category. You may change or withdraw an optional choice at any time in Cookie settings. If you disable preference cookies, KU Spark deletes the saved language and theme cookies. The current page may retain those selections in memory until you leave the page or the session ends.

Essential cookies

• Authentication cookies identify an authenticated session and protect the sign-in process. Where session caching is enabled, a protected and signed copy of session information is stored temporarily. Cookie duration depends on the configured session period.
• ku-spark-cookie-consent records the optional categories you selected and the applicable policy version. It remains for up to 1 year.
• ku-spark-anonymous-id contains a random identifier used to associate an unauthenticated choice with a consent record. Only a one-way keyed hash of the identifier is stored with that record. The cookie remains for up to 1 year.
• ku-spark:pwa-install:v1 is necessary browser storage used only to honor your app-installation reminder choice on that browser. It records installation confirmation, a dismissal count, and a reminder cooldown, but no account identifier or browsing history. Reminder cooldowns last 30 or 60 days, automatic reminders stop after two dismissals, and the record remains until you clear the site’s browser storage.
• Additional cookies used for security, network routing, or hosting may be set only where necessary to provide and protect the service.

Preference cookies

• ku-spark-locale records the interface language you select for up to 1 year.
• ku-spark-theme records whether you select light, dark, or system appearance for up to 1 year.

Cookie-free usage analytics

KU Spark currently uses aggregated usage analytics that does not use cookies. The analytics may collect page-view time, page URL or route pattern, referring page, filtered query parameters, approximate country, region, or city, browser, operating system, device type, analytics script version, and an anonymous visitor hash that resets after 24 hours. The analytics choice in Cookie settings applies only to optional analytics cookies or similar storage that may be introduced in the future. It does not enable or disable the current cookie-free analytics.

Analytics and marketing cookie choices

KU Spark does not currently use analytics or marketing cookies. Selecting either category does not authorize an undisclosed tool. Any optional tool introduced in the future must remain disabled until the relevant choice permits its use and this Policy has been updated to state its purpose and duration.

Other device storage

KU Spark may use browser storage and caching to load application files, retain temporary information, and deliver updates. These functions are necessary to provide the service and are not used as advertising trackers. If you request content from an external service, such as optional media search content, your device may contact that service. That processing is subject to the external service’s privacy notice.

Browser controls and contact

You may also delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent authentication or the use of important functions. To manage choices recorded by KU Spark, use Cookie settings. You may submit questions through Feedback and Request.
